Meet the Owners: Kaitlyn & Alyssa !
We like to think of our story as a real-life “meet cute” and we’re excited to share it with you.
It all started one day at a local market in the charming, historic town of Bowling Green, Virginia. Kaitlyn was there selling t-shirts and “blind date with a book” bundles when Alyssa stopped by and picked up a few. What started as small talk quickly turned into something more turns out, they were neighbors, living on opposite sides of the railroad tracks!
The two instantly hit it off. As they chatted, they discovered they shared the same dream: to one day open a mobile bookstore. By the very next day, that casual conversation turned into serious planning. Their husbands lovingly called them crazy. It was basically the business version of a Vegas wedding.
From finding a trailer to building a business and most importantly, a friendship they brought The TBR Shelf to life in just two short months. What began as a spontaneous idea quickly became a passion project with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of book love behind it.
